Child protection guidelines

Child protection concept of the DoReMi music school

The following child protection policy is binding for all teachers and staff at the music school and is regularly reviewed and updated to ensure that it meets current standards. We hope that this child protection policy will help to ensure that all students feel safe and protected and can develop their musical abilities in a positive environment.

Objectives and principles

The music school is committed to protecting children and young people from all forms of abuse and neglect. Our aim is to create a safe and positive environment for all students to develop their musical abilities.

Teachers and staff

All teachers and staff at the music school must undergo a thorough selection process. We ask all applicants to submit their qualifications, experience and references and interview them. Teachers must have a university degree or equivalent qualification in music.

Application and registration

All students are registered on our website. We check whether there is still space available and confirm registration. The data will be treated confidentially and will not be passed on to third parties. Pupils will then be invited to a registration interview.

Procedure for checking background information

We carry out a background check and reserve the right to terminate the relationship with the person concerned if abuse or neglect is suspected.

Safety and supervision

We ensure that our rooms are safe and suitable for children. We provide adequate supervision during lessons.

Reporting child abuse or neglect

If we suspect that a child is in danger or is being abused, we report this immediately to the relevant authorities and support them in the investigation.

Training of teachers and staff

All teachers and staff receive regular training on signs of child abuse and neglect. We encourage an open and supportive work environment where teachers and staff feel safe to speak up about concerns or suspicions.

Confidentiality

We ensure that all reports of child abuse or neglect are treated confidentially and only shared with authorized persons. We inform parents and pupils about who will be informed and how this will be done.

Exchange of information with parents and pupils

We regularly inform parents and pupils about our child protection concept and how they can contact us if they have any concerns or suspicions.

Communication with parents

We maintain open communication with parents and inform them regularly about the progress of their children and any concerns or suspicions. We ensure that parents can contact us at any time if they have questions or concerns.

Code of conduct for teachers and staff

We have drawn up a code of conduct for all teachers and staff to ensure that they act professionally and ethically in their work. The code contains guidelines for dealing with students, behavior outside the classroom and the handling of confidential information.

Protection of privacy

We protect the privacy of students and their families and ensure that no personal information is shared without consent.

Teacher conferences

We hold regular teacher conferences to ensure that all teachers are up to date and that the child protection policy is adhered to. We encourage open dialog and continuous improvement of practices and procedures.
